The bouquet shows some intense cedary oak while the palate is tightly coiled, intense, and wonderfully concentrated, with a fine line of bright natural acidity on a clean finish of significant length. Like the previous vintages, it's needing time to open up and show its complexity and impeccably balanced character. There is already a purity of fruit – especially grapefruit, white peach, and white nectarine – tightness and power. The finish has that wonderful dry quality that is a hallmark of outstanding Margaret River chardonnay.
